she's so fierce, she makes superfly cringe ...

back down in the morning, pretty as pie,
then she spread her wings, and began to fly ...

now some gray days afford the best bokeh,
this swallowtail did pose for me, just so,
and gathered nectar slowly, in this way,
together we gave this day our best go ...

lingered for a moment before my lens,
a perfect garden guest, just so you know,
she left this daisy tidy, for her friends ...

mere seconds, was he sitting on this bush,
extending his proboscis in a curl,
then landing on my nose in a soft whoosh,
and asking if i'd like to be his girl ...

this teensy weensy guy landed on my nose, right between my eyes, nanoseconds after i took this shot! i had a startle reflex - i jumped and then he jumped right onto my finger, that was poised on the shutter of my camera - love at first fright ... /smile

this wee hoverfly, without a trapeze,
"plantain is yum," say this small group of flies,
sucking down nectar, right before our eyes ...
