i'm listening as the birds sing,
and to their mates fine seeds they bring.
now spring's not due for many days,
but buds and birds move 'bout their ways,
of welcoming spring with their praise,
with courting, budding, and displays ...

today we watched the cardinals feeding each other - a sure sign of pending spring! a wee bit early, by about twenty-four days but, hey, who's counting?!? ;)

this blue jay wanted in on 'birds of red'
and so i kissed him right upon the head,
he's singing happy birthday with wide beak,
this silly jay with lipstick on his cheek! xo

imagine being born on valentine's day and being a sweetheart as well?!? well, it just so happens that dear, heart-full, di is celebrating her birthday today, and so i'm wishing her a happy birthday by dedicating this silly 'blue on blue' jay to her! xo
 
(ps: i had to wipe the lipstick off this blue jay's cheek, hope you don't mind ...)

a little birdie told me that today,
we celebrate in a fine flickr way,
a friend who does with light sure love to play,
so chime right in and sing happy birthday!

these chinese geese were practicing their moves,
and as you see their fine routine now proves,
that geese can glide on ice in such a way,
it makes you laugh forever and a day ... xo
